One needs to look no further than the big profits put into the private companies (LANIER)pockets to see that parking need to come back under the town and use that profit to beef up the police dept and develop perhaps an internship for aspiring criminal justice majors at CFCC where they can not only potentially handle parking issues but assist the police in enforcement of the strand issues like alcohol consumption ,littering etc. It is a waste of manpower to simply have ticket writers for parking when by simply taking it back under the town you can have a lot more bite with the bark and also provide potential police candidates to help relieve the revolving door the department has to deal with.
Parking is WAY to much. 1.25 per hour. I am a local and go everyday to surf. Im there 12 hrs out of the entire day. SO I put a lot of money into the machine. there has to be a cheaper way for locals.
Also the motorcycles, I had a parking ticket stolen off my bike and had to pay the fine. where do you put the tickets on your motorcycle? also you cant share spots according to the parking enforcer. you must park in a car spot. why not park in little areas to give cars the room.
Motorcycles should be able to park all in one spot and not pay, were only there for a few mins anyways.
